course, there’s no guarantee that he would treat
you differently even if you do tell him, because
he might not feel the same way about you. “not
talking to him” seem the least useful since he
probably wouldn’t care. it’s also a rather
childish way to deal with people. you are in
college, and an adult. the proper approach is for
you to tell him how you feel. the result can’t
be predicted, but at least you won’t be in
suspence.
